ExplorerPatcher is for Microsoft Windows 11, it adds configuration options for the taskbar and notification area.

If you prefer a Windows 7 like Start Menu you can install Open-Shell-Menu along with ExplorerPatcher.

Black Screen at Login

Sometimes ExplorerPatcher will cause your screen to go black at login. ExplorerPatch will need to be uninstalled and re-installed.

If this happens, launch the Task Manager from the black screen by selecting the key combination of Ctrl-Alt-Del (the three finger solute!), select the Task manager from the list.

In the Task Manger select "Run new task"

In the Open: text field enter the following command: ms-settings:appsfeatures
check box "Create this task with administrative privileges." and select OK.

Select the three vertical dots to the right of the ExplorerPatcher list entry and select Uninstall.

If you Prefer to use CCleaner to uninstall ExplorerPatcher enter this in the Open field:
"C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe"

Select Tools --> Uninstall --> ExplorerPatcher --> Uninstall

Once ExplorerPatcher is uninstalled visit the ExplorerPatcher github page (see link at the beginning of this article), download and install the latest version.
