Windows Gadgets

While reading PC Authority magazine's November 2012 edition I came across an article by Davey Winder concerning security issues with Windows gadgets. Davey respectfully suggests, "nuke your Windows Gadgets?".

Gadgets (Windows Sidebar) are those small floating desktop panels that display such things as weather reports, clocks, photo streams, etc. Not only do gadgets consume PC system resources, they are prone to security vulnerabilities. Even Microsoft is advising to turn off desktop gadgets:

Windows gadgets have been removed in Windows 8 & 10.
